The Pallancata silver/gold deposit is located in the Department of Ayacucho in southern Peru, approximately 160 kilometres from the Arcata operation. Pallancata commenced production in 2007 and up until December 2013 was a joint venture, in which Hochschild held a controlling interest of 60% with International Minerals Corporation (“IMZ”). Following the purchase of IMZ, Hochschild now owns 100% of the operation. Ore from Pallancata is transported 22 kilometres to the Selene plant for processing.

The Arcata unit is located in the Department of Arequipa in southern Peru, approximately 300 kilometres from the city of Arequipa, on a 47,000 hectare site, at an altitude of 4,600 metres above sea level. Arcata is a 100% owned underground operation. The Company began developing and preparing the Arcata mine in 1961 and the first concentrate was poured in 1964.

The Donlin deposits are situated approximately 280 miles (450 km) west of Anchorage and 155 miles (250 km) northeast of Bethel up the Kuskokwim River. The closest village is the community of Crooked Creek, approximately 12 miles (20 km) to the south, on the Kuskokwim River.

Altar is a copper-gold property in San Juan province, Argentina. It is located in the Andes Mountains, approximately 10 km from the Argentina-Chile border, and approximately 180km west of the city of San Juan.

Southern orange free state (SOFS) is situated in the Magisterial District Matjhabeng, near the towns of Welkom, Virginia and Theunissen, approximately 240km south-west of Johannesburg, in the Free State province of South Africa. The site is adjacent to Beatrix, and is accessed via the N1 highway between Johannesburg and Kroonstad and then via the R30. Geologically, it is located in the Free State Goldfield and will form part of the southernmost gold mine in the Witwatersrand Basin. The SOFS area includes: Wits Gold prospecting areas comprising the Bloemhoek and De Bron Merriespruit projects, which are separated by regional faulting.

Burnstone is in the South Rand Goldfield of the Witwatersrand Basin next to the town of Balfour, approximately 75 km east of Johannesburg in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. Burnstone is accessed from the N3 highway via the Heidelberg South R23 road at the Balfour exit. The town of Balfour is located approximately 18 km east of the N3. The Burnstone property is accessible via a network of unpaved roads, approximately 6.5 km east of Balfour.

Cooke is a large, established, shallow to intermediate-level gold mine which has been producing gold and uranium since 1961. Cooke underground operations are on care and maintenance. The surface mining is located in the West Rand District Municipality of the Gauteng province, South Africa. Cooke shafts are located approximately 30 km to 40 km south-west of Johannesburg.

The mine is situated in the Magisterial District of Randwest, some 60km west of Johannesburg in the Gauteng province of South Africa. Kloof is accessed via the N12 highway between Johannesburg and Potchefstroom, close to Westonaria. The area’s topography is relatively flat and the vegetation is classified as Bankenveld, consisting mostly of grassland. Livestock farming predominates in the surrounding area. Kloof is an established, shallow to ultra-deep-level gold mine. Kloof, in its current form, dates from April 2000 when the Venterspost (1939), Libanon (1945), Kloof (1968) and Leeudoorn (1993) mines were amalgamated. The current mine infrastructure consists of five producing shaft complexes that mine open ground and pillars (white areas) with the deepest operating level some 3,347m below surface (45 Level at 4 Shaft), and two gold processing plants. The principal mining takes place on the VCR, with the remainder made up from MVR, KR and Libanon Reef (LR).
